Dr. Dusa received her Medical Degree at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Târgu Mureş, Romania and did her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN.

Dr. Dusa performed medical research in Neuroscience and Molecular Biology at the prestigious New York University - NYU School of Medicine and her work was published in the Journal of European Molecular Biology Organization.

Dr. Dusa was doing medical research at NYU during the Millennium days. This was a very exciting time for science and medicine when the first rough draft of the human genome was just published and announced by President Bill Clinton in June of year 2000.

Dr. Narcisa Adina Dusa studied the effects of enzyme - RPTP alpha on neuronal migration in the mouse brain. She learned at the time that deletion of just one gene in a genotype can change the phenotype of an animal significantly and was fascinated by the major influence of seemingly very small changes in the molecular biology for the offspring of the animal.

She learned about epigenetics and how genes in our body can be turned on or off; they can be expressed or not depending on the interaction between individual and the environment. That was the moment when she realized that our genes are not our destiny and that we could actually modify gene expression with nutrition and lifestyle change.

Dr. Dusa went on and did her residency and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine; she started working as a Hospitalist at Medical Center of Plano and Presbyterian Hospital of Plano; she then opened her own Internal Medicine practice in Plano where she has been taking meticulous care of her patients, first in a very traditional way then integrating functional medicine.

When Dr. Dusa first attended the annual conference of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM) her life changed. She found out that there was so much more one can do to help people! So much more science and approaches and modalities one can use to help people heal and live their life full of potential and vitality. She then started educating herself again and specializing in integrative medicine and functional medicine. She became a Diplomate of American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine and also discovered and became fascinated by Functional Medicine and the power of it.

Dr. Dusa has completed the advanced training and rigorous testing and is now a Certified Practitioner with and an active member of the Institute for Functional Medicine, the premier educational and certifying body leading the initiatives to change the way medicine is practiced in the United States and around the world through research, education, and policy transformation. She now knows that the epidemic of chronic diseases is preventable and even reversible, mainly through a better diet, a more balanced lifestyle, and reducing stress and harmful environmental exposures.

Dr. Dusa continued to take courses with renowned medical organizations like American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), American Academy for Anti-aging Medicine, International Hyperbaric Association and the Society for Oxidative Medicine (Sopmed). Dr. Dusa also became interested in multiple treatment modalities. She learned about the role of intravenous therapy for nutrition and detoxification, about using hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help improve ATP (adenosine three phosphate) production and increase energy level and tissue functions, to reduce inflammation and pain response and boost the immune system and regenerate the nervous system. She also trained in oxidative therapies with ozone, hyperthermia, micro-current and pulsed electromagnetic field to improve energy, function and regeneration of tissues.

At the same time, she respects the amazing advances of traditional medicine and combines both approaches for the best outcome of the patient.

The best of all worlds her medical care combines years of practicing traditional allopathic internal medicine and then specializing in functional medicine and integrative medicine with the whole purpose to provide a personalized holistic medical care for each individual patient.

She will work with her patients and find roots for their problems, will organize problems in a systems approach then go into action and address each problem with different modalities with a personalized comprehensive program designed for each individual’s specific needs.

Using this comprehensive approach Dr. Dusa will help you reach your ultimate health goals and beyond!
